The Importance of a Republican Congress

Whether it's Obama or McCain it matters not. The importance of a Republican Congress is paramount. Both candidates are way too far to the left to be of service to the country.

A Republican house will be able to put the brakes on the dangerous ideas being floated around. I know the Republicans went on a spending spree. Things are different now. We are all aware of the need to get involved, to have our voices heard, to hold their feet to the fire. Both candidates will take us into socialism. Pelosi and Reed, Schumer and Frank and the rest of the good time gang must go. There is where the change is needed.

Change is coming one way or another. The thought of one party ruling the country is a recipe for disaster. There must be a counter balance, or the change will break the bank and break the country.

I say throw them all out. Start with no one owing anyone. No favors to be called. Start with a new spirit, new ideas and a loyalty to the people of this country.

I know we can recover.

Thank You Exxon-Mobil

Thank you Exxon-Mobil for all that you have done for America as well as the world. You gave us great power to do and accomplish many things. You made it possible to heat our homes, drive our automobiles and create a myriad of products all from oil. Oil you brought to us via innovation, hard work and dedication. Where would we be without you?

It amazes me how villainized you have become. A scapegoat for sure. Politicians holding hearings, news stories one after the other. A diversionary tactic so as not to see the real culprits, Congress!

The solution is to Drill, Drill, Drill. And for Congress to get the hell out of the way,cut your taxes, and set the American spirit ablaze.

It's criminal what Congress is doing. We are falling behind and we only have ourselves to blame. Vote them out, let's get some pro-Americans to rekindle the flame of prosperity once again.

The Sad Truth

The sad truth is at least half of Congress is anti-American. Think about it. We have oil reserves, coal reserves, gas reserves and nuclear technology. Half of Congress won't allow any of this to be touched. China, India and Cuba are drilling for oil off our coastline, slant drilling at that. Where are the environmentalists now? Then there is the dollar being devalued, making it possible to sell more goods overseas. Sure, it helps with the deficit, but at what cost?

Oh and let's not forget ethanol. We are burning our food supply. Farmers are growing corn for fuel, not for human consumption. The whole world is effected by this blunder. We all know it, but the charade continues.

This is truly a crises by anyone's definition. This Congress is letting us down. There is no leadership from the White House, or anywhere else. The prospects of Obama and McCain are frightening.

When I was growing up there was Communism to contend with. We kept a watchful eye out for signs of it. Today it's the environmentalist we have to watch out for. And guess what -- Congress is loaded with them. The best money can buy.

Then there are the socialists in Congress. Another can of worms. Transfer of wealth is their mantra. Maxine Waters threatened to nationalize the oil industry. These are not the people who we should be trusting. They've proven their intentions, their disdain for the American way of life. We should be more like the Europeans they say.

Do I have to mention global warming? What a sham. You do know you can buy carbon offsets from Al Gore's company, right? I'll give you a better deal, call me. There has been no increase in the Earth's temperature in the last 10 years. The Earth is dynamic not static. Oh, and Barbra Boxer doesn't want to leave a sweltering world to our grand children!

We are leaders not followers. Congress has lost site of that fact. Which brings me to the new world order crowd. It all fits in, recking our economy, being subservient to the United Nations, weakening our currency, and guess what? We will be taken over without a shot fired.

Do You Hear Us?

Washington, do you hear us?

We have been telling you for years now. Just follow the Constitution. Nothing more-- nothing less.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

There you have it. Set us up with a solid defense, a rule of law, order, an energy policy and get out of the way, GO HOME.

It's not your job to transfer wealth, to spend our money as though it were yours.

What are you doing holding hearing on baseball? The United States Congress-- baseball? Go Home! Walk around and meet your constituents. Talk to us, get to know us. Visit VA hospitals, pump your own gas-- go grocery shopping. How about a visit to the schools in your district. Learn what the schools are and are not teaching. I believed you'll be amazed. A trip to a military base would be in order, get to know the people who make our country safe. Stop in the police stations and meet those who protect us every day. I don't suppose you thought it was you.

Who Will Stand With Me ?

Who will stand with me and fight those who are corrupting our system? Who will stand with me and force the special interests out of Washington?

We all know Congress and the special interest groups are in bed with each other. So looking towards government to solve our problems is a non sequitur. Where does that leave us?

The only power we have is the ballot box. We almost got it to work with the Contract with America, but the juniors were quickly corralled into the fold and coerced into following the big footprints of the status quo.

While we have very brave men and women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, we at home must do our part and make sure they have something worth coming home to. It is our responsibility!

The time has come to allow drilling in Anwr, off our coasts and in the Gulf of Mexico. After all, Cuba and China have formed a partnership to do just that. Who do you think has the better technology to drill cleanly and safely?

Then there is coal made into fuel; Germany developed this technology during WWII. The Air Force is doing this as we speak. We certainly don't want to be dependent on anyone other than ourselves when it comes to our defense. The time has come to build nuclear plants and certainly refineries.

All this "green" nonsense has got to stop. All it does is make money for Al Gore and those who jump on the bandwagon. There is zero evidence of man-made globe warming and the temperature has not increased in the last 10 years. So stop the silliness.

I know there is so much money on the table that the oil companies don't want to leave. This is very short sighted. Speaking of which, look at the unintended consequences of what happened when ethanol was mandated to buy a few votes and to appease the environmentalists. The whole world is affected. The price of food is more than some people can afford in some of the poorer countries. The price of fuel being bid up by speculators is going to kill the goose that lays the golden egg.

So what I am saying is it is up to us to push Washington into action with pressure, much pressure.

This is where we can start. Make contact with your representatives and let them know we are paying attention, and that we vote. We will be voting on the way they vote and perform. Start by calling the offices of your representatives and talk about drilling for oil. Call again the next day to talk about converting coal to fuel oil. Keep calling to talk about more refineries and nuclear power plants.

Lastly we don't need all these designer gasolines for different parts of the country and different seasons. This increases the cost and increases the inefficiency in the system.

All this, by the way, will produce many good paying jobs right here at home.

None of the Presidential candidates has a clue about the economy so there is no hope there. Vote the status quo out and let fresh ideas in.
